There will be a concert of an excellent music ensemble at the Aynalı Gazino next to Taksim Garden in Beyoğlu, from the first day of the holy Ramadan Feast and every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday each week after the feast holiday. The ensemble is composed of the famous kemençe1 player Anastaş, the famous oud2 player Mısırlı İbrahim, the kanun3 player Nesip, the famous singers Asdikzade Boğos and Üsküdarlı Oseb, as well as the singers Agopos and Seysak. Without a doubt any esteemed guest wishing to go to this concert will most certainly be pleased.

Udi Misirli Ibrahim Efendi

1872–1933

Born in Aleppo (Ottoman Syria) into a merchant family, Avram Ḥayat Levi Aboud became known as Udi Misirli Ibrahim Efendi (Sir Ibrahim the Egyptian Oud Player), a title of great respect that reflected the extensive time he spent in Cairo as a composer, oud player, and singer. More than fifty of his recordings have survived, representing a variety of Turkish and Ottoman melodic structures. Ibrahim Efendi performed in concert halls, nightclubs, and synagogues. This advertisement is for an evening performance of his with a multiethnic ensemble of musicians in a central Istanbul neighborhood during and after the three-day feast following Ramadan.
