The Girl of Dreams

Shulamit Lapid is a Tel Aviv-born author and playwright who writes for children and adults. Her historical novel Ge oni was published in 1982 to critical acclaim. Among the many prizes Lapid has received are Germany’s Krimipreis for the best crime novel in 1966 and the International Theater Institute Award in 1988.

Shemuel Bunim was an award-winning Israeli actor, theatrical director, and artist. Born in Saratov, Russia, he spent most of his childhood in Kaunas, Lithuania. He and his family emigrated to pre-state Israel in 1934, where Bunim eventually became a member of Kibbutz Yakum. His extensive career in Israeli and world theater included serving for many decades as the resident director of Israel’s Cameri Theater. He continued to paint and he designed a series of painted panels for Hadassah’s Ein Kerem Hospital.
