Lucas Conrad Pfandzelt

1716–1786

Born in Germany, Lucas Conrad Pfandzelt was trained in the art of portraiture by his father and eventually settled in St. Petersburg where he became a successful artist, in addition to art restorer and collector. His most famous work is the coronation painting of Tsar Peter III.
