Canadian-born Lawrence A. Hoffman is a rabbi and professor at the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in New York. He is the author of numerous books and articles, for a variety of audiences, on Jewish liturgy and worship. In 1994, Hoffman cofounded the interdenominational organization, Synagogue 3000.
