Norman Podhoretz

b. 1930

Neoconservative political philosopher Norman Podhoretz grew up in Brooklyn, New York. He is the former editor in chief of Commentary and is also a literary critic and author of numerous books, essays, and two memoirs. He received the Presidential Medal of Freedom from George W. Bush in 2004 and the Guardian of Zion Award from Bar-Ilan University in Israel in 2007.
