Ralph Steadman

b. 1936

Ralph Steadman, born in Wallasey, England, is a cartoonist, illustrator, and author of political cartoons, children’s books, biographies, and novels. Steadman is particularly known for working with Hunter S. Thompson on a style known as “gonzo journalism,” as well as for his critiques of American culture and his illustrations of picture books such as Alice in Wonderland.
