Isaac de Pinto

1717–1787

The de Pinto family was a wealthy family of Sephardic merchant bankers living in Amsterdam. At the end of the fifteenth century, members of the family living in the Iberian Peninsula had converted to Christianity. During the seventeenth century, descendants of the de Pinto family settled in Amsterdam, where they began to practice Judaism openly. The Portuguese chronicle details the family’s history.
