Bob Kane

1915–1998

Bob Kane (born Robert Kahn) was cocreator, with Milton "Bill" Finger, of the characters Batman and Robin. Batman first appeared in DC Comics in May 1939 and remains an icon of American popular culture. Kane secured the copyright to Batman early on and was long credited as sole creator of the series despite the important role Finger played in its development.
