Barbara Lebow
b. 1936
Barbara Lebow was born in Brooklyn, New York, and has lived in Atlanta and Santa Barbara, California. She is a dramatist who served as playwright-in-residence at the Academy Theatre in Georgia. She has written plays for both adults and children, including for audiences of mentally and physically challenged individuals, the homeless, and prison populations. Lebow has received a Guggenheim Fellowship, a TGC/Pew Theatre Artists Residency, an NEA/TCG Residency, the Atlanta Mayor’s Fellowship in the Arts, and the Georgia Governor’s Award in the Arts.
