Friedrich August Calau

1769–1828

Friedrich August Calau was the son of the Prussian court painter Benjamin Calau. Born in Leipzig, he worked as a miniature painter, watercolorist, and draftsman in Berlin and was best known for his pictures of Berlin and its surroundings. He is credited as the artist of over three hundred works.
