Saul Borovoi
1903–1989
Saul Borovoi, from Odessa, defended his dissertation on the history of Ukraine in 1940. Writing in Yiddish and Russian, he also studied and translated Hebrew. Borovoi wrote about Jews in the Khmelnytsky uprising and about the Nazi occupation of Odessa. His memoirs were published posthumously.
