Wolf Terló

b. ca. 1872–Date Unknown

Born in Russia, Wolf Terló arrived in Jaffa in 1891 during the second wave of the First Aliyah. Studying agronomy, he was encouraged to spend time in France, where he became a viticulturist. In 1904, Terló moved to Portugal as a viticultural extension agent for the Portuguese Ministry of Agriculture. With the fall of Portuguese monarchy in 1910, Terló began advocating for a Jewish Portuguese colonial territorial arrangement in Angola as reparations for the expulsion and Inquisition; the idea was supported by Israel Zangwill and the Jewish Territorialist Organization.
