Yedida Eisenstat

Yedida Eisenstat (she/her) has a background in ancient and medieval Jewish biblical interpretation. She earned her Ph.D. in Jewish Studies from the Jewish Theological Seminary. Her research examines ways that Jewish traditions of biblical interpretation evolve through time and place and in response to the majority cultures amidst which Jews have lived. Originally from Toronto, Yedida now lives in Washington, DC.

Lee Eskin

Lee Eskin (he/him) is a former teacher with a degree in philosophy focused on the philosophy of language and logic. He has taught and coached students of various ages on their writing process and served as content editor for various website redevelopment projects. In his spare time, he studies Talmud and other Jewish subjects. He currently lives in Brooklyn.

Eve Levavi Feinstein

Eve Levavi Feinstein

Eve Levavi Feinstein (she/her) has over twenty years of editing experience, including three years on the production staff of Harvard Theological Review. She holds a Ph.D. in Hebrew Bible from Harvard University and a B.A. in Near Eastern and Judaic studies from Brandeis University. She is the author of Sexual Pollution in the Hebrew Bible, published by Oxford University Press, and lives in San Jose.

Maud Kozodoy

Maud Kozodoy

Maud Kozodoy (she/her) is a scholar of medieval Jewish history and the history of science. She was previously Senior Editor at Inference: International Review of Science, and earned her Ph.D. in Medieval Jewish Studies from the Jewish Theological Seminary. Her book, The Secret Faith of Maestre Honoratus: Profayt Duran and Jewish Identity in Late Medieval Iberia, was published by UPenn Press in 2015. Maud is based in New York City and Massachusetts.

Marsha Lustigman’s (she/her) many years of experience as a professional librarian informs her work for The Posen Library. She has served on the executive board of the Association of Jewish Libraries, which actively supports and promotes the publication of Jewish literature in all forms. Originally from Toronto, she holds an M.A. (York University) and an M.L.S. (University of Toronto) and lives in Montreal.

Deborah Dash Moore

Deborah Dash Moore

Deborah Dash Moore (she/her) is the Jonathan Freedman Distinguished University Professor of History  and Professor of Judaic Studies at the University of Michigan. An American Jewish historian, her work focuses on urban Jews. She is the editor in chief of The Posen Library of Jewish Culture and Civilization. She also served as co-editor of The Posen Library of Jewish Culture and Civilization, Volume 10: Late Twentieth Century, 1973–2005.

Joyce Rappaport

Joyce Rappaport

Joyce Rappaport (she/her) has devoted her editorial skills to The Posen Library of Jewish Culture and Civilization since 2008, beginning as managing editor and now serving as executive editor. After editing several literary anthologies and books about Jewish culture, she worked from 2004 as copy chief of the YIVO Encyclopedia of Jews in Eastern Europe, also published by Yale University Press. A native of New York City, Joyce earned her doctorate in eighteenth-century poetry at York University and now lives in Montreal.

Sarah Shectman

Sarah Shectman

Sarah Shectman (she/her) earned her doctorate in Near Eastern and Judaic Studies from Brandeis University and was previously managing editor of the journal Jewish Social Studies. With a background in Hebrew Bible, she is the author of Women in the Pentateuch: A Feminist and Source-Critical Analysis (Sheffield Phoenix Press, 2009) and co-editor of The Strata of the Priestly Writings: Contemporary Debate and Future Directions (TVZ, 2009). Sarah lives in San Francisco.

Rachel Weinstein

Rachel Weinstein

Rachel Weinstein (she/her) has managed academic research initiatives since 1998. She has worked on projects for Harvard University Press, for Columbia University's online academic website, and as a senior researcher for Volume 10 of The Posen Library. Rachel holds degrees from Vassar College and CUNY-Graduate Center. She is based in New York City.
