Judy Blume grew up in Elizabeth, New Jersey, and Miami, and graduated from New York University. Blume’s works for children and young adults have gained immense popularity for their treatment of subjects relevant to the lives of her audience. She has also written novels for adults, and earned the 2004 National Book Foundation Medal for her contribution to American letters.
