Dirt paths of her forehead
Railroad trains anchor, yellow
Carriages locomotive flowers
In the fields of liberated Europe
Traveling and returning. In the shadows
Between my mother’s eyes ashes
Walk, her eyelids are a necklace
Of mountains that I adorn the neck with
Distant sun-islands, bridges
Over troubled waters…

Creator Bio

Oded Peled

b. 1950

An editor and a translator at the Keshev publishing house, Oded Peled was born in Haifa and has published a number of poetry anthologies as well as translated American literature into Hebrew. In 2007, he received the Prime Minister’s Prize.
