Creator Bio

Marcos Aguinis

b. 1935

Argentine-born Marcos Aguinis, who trained as a neurosurgeon and psychoanalyst, is best known as an author, lecturer, and cultural intellectual. His novels, short stories, nonfiction titles, and essays encompass themes of oppression, identity, and the Jewish community. He spent time in Spain, and in 1983 was appointed Secretary of Culture for Argentina.
