Name of Owner on Jar from Tel Rehov
9th Century BCE
Elitsedek/Eltsadak (son of) Shahli
Notes
[Tel Rehov, an originally Canaanite city, was part of the Northern Kingdom of Israel by the ninth century BCE, but its population was probably a mix of indigenous Canaanites, Israelites, and perhaps Aramaeans. This name, in terms of its vocabulary and the script in which it is written, is ambiguous; it could belong to a member of any of these groups.—Eds.]
