Herman Taube

1918–2014

Poet, novelist, and journalist Herman Taube was born in Ĺódź. He survived World War II in Soviet work camps and then as a medic in the Second Polish Army. Taube immigrated to the United States in 1947. He contributed to the Yiddish Forward and the Washington Jewish Week, and served on the international executive board of the World Gathering of Holocaust Survivors.
