Marshall T. Meyer

1930–1993

Born in New York City and brought up in Norwich, Connecticut, Marshall T. Meyer was a Conservative rabbi and human rights activist. While serving as a rabbi at Congregación Israelita de la República Argentina in Buenos Aires, Meyer was a found er of the Seminario Rabínico Latinoamericano. In 1983 he received the highest Argentine decoration for foreigners, the Medal of San Martín, for activism against the junta. In 1984 Meyer became the rabbi of Congregation B’nai Jeshurun in Manhattan.
