Harold S. Kushner

b. 1935

Born in Brooklyn, New York, Harold S. Kushner is a Conservative rabbi, best-selling author, educator, and lecturer. Kushner served as rabbi of Temple Israel in Natick, Massachusetts, from 1966 to 1990. In addition to his theological works about human suffering, Kushner co-edited Etz Hayim: A Torah Commentary, the commentary of the Conservative movement. Kushner has received the Jewish Book Council’s Lifetime Achievement Award.
