Albert S. Axelrad

b. 1938

Albert S. Axelrad grew up in Brooklyn, New York, and was ordained as a rabbi by the Jewish Institute of Religion, Hebrew Union College. Axelrad served as chaplain and Hillel director at Brandeis University for 34 years, and now teaches at the Center for Spiritual Life of Emerson College. The author of three books, Axelrad has been recognized for his progressive social action and liturgical renewal.
