Harold M. Schulweis

1925–2014

Born and brought up in New York City, Harold Schulweis attended Yeshiva University and was ordained as a Conservative rabbi at the Jewish Theological Seminary of America. Schulweis led Congregation Valley Beth Shalom in Encino, California, from 1970. Much of his work addressed Jewish education, outreach, and interfaith dialogue. Schulweis was the author of several books and two volumes of poetry.
