Sami Shalom Chetrit

b. 1960

Sami Shalom Chetrit is a Moroccan-born social science scholar, poet, and film producer who moved to Israel at age three. He holds a doctorate from the Hebrew University and is a professor at Queens College in New York. An influential social activist who lectures in Israel and the United States, Chetrit has published texts and essays about ethnicity, class, and culture. He also produced the film The Black Panthers Speak.
