Alvin I. Schiff

1926–2013

Alvin I. Schiff graduated from Yeshiva University; in 1959, he founded and became the director of Yeshiva University’s department of graduate Jewish education (now the Azrieli Graduate School). Schiff served as executive vice president of the Board of Jewish Education of Greater New York from 1970 to 1991. He wrote extensively about Jewish education and received the Israel President’s Prize in Jewish Education in 2010.
