James L. Kugel

James L. Kugel was born in New York, educated at Harvard University and the City University of New York, and now serves as professor of Bible, and director of the Institute for the History of the Jewish Bible at Bar Ilan University. An editor and co- founder of the literary journal Prooftexts, Kugel’s publications focus on exegesis and the Second Temple period.
