Ruth Gavison
1945–2020
Born and raised in Jerusalem, Ruth Gavison is a jurist who earned her doctorate at Oxford University. Gavison teaches law at the Hebrew University, and has written widely on issues of the philosophy of law, and judicial law. She was a founding member and president of the Association for Civil Rights in Israel and was nominated to be on Israel’s Supreme Court.
