Michael Wolffsohn

b. 1947

Historian Michael Wolffsohn was born in Tel Aviv. In 1954 he moved to Germany, where he studied history at the Free University of Berlin. He then served in the Israeli Defense Forces, returning to West Berlin in 1970, where he earned a doctorate. From 1975 to 1980 he taught at the University of the Saarland, and since 1981 has been teaching contemporary history at the University of the German Federal Armed Forces in Munich.
