Israel Rabinovitz

b. 1954

Israeli artist Israel Rabinovitz is a graduate of the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design; he also pursued postgraduate studies at the Brera Academy in Milan. Rabinovitz has designed numerous outdoor sculptures and participated in solo and group shows, including the São Paulo Biennale (1992) and the Shanghai Biennale (2005). The recipient of the Jerusalem Award for Sculpture (1995), he teaches at the Kaye Academic College of Education in Beersheva. He has initiated art projects that promote tolerance and understanding between Jews and Arabs, and Israelis and Germans.
