Yuri Suhl

1908–1986

Yuri Suhl was born in Podhajce, Austria-Hungary (now Poland), and came to New York City as a teenager. He was a teacher, poet, and fiction writer who wrote in Yiddish and English. Suhl received the National Jewish Book Award for Uncle Misha’s Partisans.
