Dorit Orgad

b. 1936

Dorit Orgad is a children’s author, researcher in Jewish philosophy, and creative-writing instructor. Born in Germany, Orgad immigrated to pre-State Israel at the age of two. Her books for children often deal with contemporary social issues, and have been translated extensively and dramatized for stage and screen. In 2005, Orgad received the Jewish Agency’s Award for authors and intellectuals contributing to the community, and in 2007 she received the Minister for Culture’s Prize.
