Mauricio Rosencof
b. 1933
Journalist, novelist, playwright, and political activist, Mauricio Rosencof was born in Uruguay. Because of his involvement in the National Liberation Movement-Tupamaros, he was arrested by the military regime in 1972 and imprisoned until 1985. Rosencof lives in Montevideo, where in 2005 he became the city’s cultural director.
