Marilyn Hacker

b. 1942

Poet, translator, and editor Marilyn Hacker grew up in the Bronx, New York. She is a professor at the City College of New York. The author of several collections, Hacker’s poems deal with feminism, lesbianism, and politics. Her honors include the John Masefi eld Memorial Award of the Poetry Society of America, the National Book Award, and fellowships from the Guggenheim Foundation and the National Endowment for the Arts.
