Hal Sirowitz

b. 1949

Hal Sirowitz is a New York poet, performance artist, and teacher. He has been a special education teacher for more than two decades, and has performed his poetry on PBS and MTV television programs. The recipient of a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship and a 2003 New York State Foundation for the Arts Fellowship, Sirowitz is the former Poet Laureate of Queens, New York.
