Edward Hirsch

Chicago- born Edward Hirsch is a poet and prose writer. Formerly a professor of En glish at the University of Houston, he serves as president of the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation. His many literary honors include the Rome Prize, the National Book Critics Circle Award, a MacArthur Foundation fellowship, and numerous honorary degrees.
