Ira Sadoff

b. 1945

Ira Sadoff, born in Brooklyn, New York, is a poet, short story writer, and novelist whose works explore historical and cultural influences. The Dana Professor of Poetry at Colby College, he has published volumes of poetry, a novel, and a reader containing both poetry and prose. Sadoff, a 1999 Guggenheim Fellow, received the 1976 O. Henry Award, the 1996 George Bogin Memorial Prize, and the 1998 Jerome Shestack Prize.
