Elana Dykewomon

1949–2022

Elana Dykewomon was born in New York and grew up in Puerto Rico. She is an author, editor, lesbian activist, and instructor of English at San Francisco State University. Dykewomon edited the journal Sinister Wisdom from 1987 until 1995, and has written several novels as well as poetry and short stories. Dykewomon was nominated for the 2003 Stonewall Award and has received the Lambda Literary Association Award and the Publishers’ Triangle Award.
