Isaac Troki

1533–1594

Born in Troki, a town in southeastern Lithuania, west of Vilnius, Isaac ben Abraham Troki was a learned Karaite scholar. Troki wrote several hymns that were included in the Karaite prayer book and may have written works on Karaite law. He is most famous, however, for his apologetic work, Ḥizuk emunah (Faith Strengthened), which his pupil, Joseph ben Mordechai Malinowski, completed after Troki's death.
