Aryeh Leyb ben Daniel

Aryeh Leib ben Daniel was a scribe and artist from Goray, Poland. His produced his first known Esther scrolls in Poland in the early 1730s and by 1737 was working in Germany. By 1744, he had moved to Italy. Between 1746 and 1748, he wrote and decorated several Esther scrolls in Venice. In at least four cases he wrote the text of the book of Esther on scrolls decorated by author, artist, and publisher Francesco Griselini (1717–1787).
