The Gemilut Ḥasadim (Giving of Loving-Kindness) Society of Ferrara
The Gemilut Ḥasadim society of Ferrara was one of the first voluntary charitable societies founded in Italy. The goal of the society was to manage the burial of community members as well as care for the impoverished sick. Its regulations also organized the structure of the society, its financial resources, and its hierarchy.
