Maḥla (al-Maḥalla al-Kubrā) is a town in lower Egypt, located midway between Alexandria and Damietta, on the Nile Delta. Jewish residents lived and worked in the Jewish quarter (Khoākhat al-Yahuād) and predominantly worked in textiles, notably as dyers, silk weavers, and traders.
