The Natural and the Supernatural Jew: An Historical and Theological Introduction

A novelist, publisher, and theologian, Arthur A. Cohen was born in New York City. He studied philosophy and comparative religion at the University of Chicago as well as medieval Jewish philosophy at the Jewish Theological Seminary. Although he is best known for his works on the history of modern Jewish thought, Cohen also wrote five novels, including An Admirable Woman (1983), which won the National Jewish Book Award in 1983. A publisher, Cohen founded the Noonday Press with Cecil Hemley in 1951 and Meridian Books in 1954. In 1964, he became editor in chief at Holt, Rinehart, and Winston.
