Creator Bio

Calel Perechodnik

1916–1944

Calel Perechodnik was born to an Orthodox Jewish family in Otwock, Poland. Perechodnik was able to temporarily provide for his family by joining the Jewish ghetto police in February 1941. However, his wife and daughter were sent to Treblinka in 1942 and Perechodnik died in 1944 in the Warsaw ghetto. His wartime diaries were published in 1995 by the Karta Center of Warsaw.
