Die Allgemeine Zeitung des Judentums

1842

This announcement appeared in a German Jewish periodical on July 23, 1842, welcoming what was going to be the first Ladino periodical, La Buena Esperansa, projected to appear in Izmir in 1842. The project failed; however, the announcement contains two garbled lines in square Hebrew-Ladino print, all that survives of the prospectus prepared by the prospective editor, Rafael Uziel.
