Chava Rosenfarb
1923–2011
Polish-born Chava Rosenfarb, who survived the Holocaust and later immigrated to Canada, was an award-winning author of Yiddish novels, plays, poems, and short fiction. Her writing was heavily influenced by her experiences during World War II. Among other literary honors, she was the recipient of the Sholem Aleichem Prize, the I. J. Segal Prize, the John Glassco Prize, and an honorary degree from the University of Lethbridge.
