Adam Muszka

1914–2005

Adam Muszka was a Polish-born painter raised in the town of Piotrków. During World War II, Muszka took refuge in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, before returning to Poland to find much of his former home in ruins. Muszka relocated to Paris, where he painted nostalgic scenes of Jewish life in Poland and also produced several murals in Piotrków and Łódź during his career. Profoundly influenced by painters Marc Chagall and Paul Cézanne, Muszka painted his scenes of Jewish life using colorful, flat, geometric compositions.
