Mina Tomkiewicz
1915–1971
Mina Tomkiewicz was born to an affluent family in Warsaw. She began studying medicine at Warsaw University and then received a law degree. In January 1943, Tomkiewicz escaped from the Warsaw ghetto and hid on the Aryan side until she was caught and sent to Bergen-Belsen. After the war she moved to Palestine, contributing writings to the Polish press in Israel and London, and ultimately moving to London.
