Dovid Mitzmacher
Dovid Mitzmacher was a Yiddish journalist and prose writer active in interwar Poland. Educated in both a traditional heder and at a Russian-language gymnasium, he was part of a circle of proletarian writers in Warsaw and wrote for journals and newspapers including Di ilustrirte vokh, where he debuted as a writer in 1924; the leftist Literarishe tribune (Lódz), where he served on the editorial staff; and Der fraynd (Warsaw), where he also served on staff. At the beginning of World War II, he fled to Bialystok, where he published stories and other writings in the Bialistoker shtern.
