Pierre Birnbaum

b. 1940

Pierre Birnbaum is a French political sociologist and historian, whose specialty is the political history of Jews in France. He has taught political sociology at the Institute d’études politiques in Paris and at the University of Paris. Birnbaum has also taught at Columbia University, and has published a number of works in English.
