Creator Bio

Richard N. Levy

1937–2019

Richard N. Levy, a Reform rabbi, was born in Rochester, New York, and attended Harvard University. He was the director of the School of Rabbinic Studies at the Los Angeles campus of the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion. Levy was the architect of the 1999 Statement of Principles for Reform Judaism, known as the Pittsburgh Principles.
