Yehoshua Sobol

b. 1939

Yehoshua Sobol is a playwright and essayist. He was born and brought up in Tel Mond, Israel. His first play, Hayamim habaim (The Days to Come) was staged at the Haifa Theater in 1971, and his Geto (Ghetto; 1984) was performed by the Royal National Theatre in the UK, winning the London Critics Award and the Evening Standard Award for best play of the year.
